Customs Bonded Warehousing
 

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WAREHOUSE KEEPER

  • Provide office accommodation for the Customs Officer.
  • Provide just weights scales, measures and other facilities for examining and taking account of goods.
  • Provide all necessary labour and materials for storing, examining and taking stock of warehoused goods.

 

GOODS THAT CAN BE WAREHOUSED
Some of the goods that can be warehoused are rice, sugar, tinned and canned foods. Contact any CEPS Office to check on the status of other goods.

 

REVENUE SECURITY FOR A BONDED WAREHOUSE
At present, the license fee is $600.00 per year payable in cedis at the current exchange rate. The license is renewable 12 months after the date of issue.

 

BOND REQUIREMENTS
Before any license is issued for any private warehouse a bond is required to be given with collateral security. This is in the form of Premises and Removal Bond.

The Security can be obtained from an Accredited Insurance Company. The list can be obtained from any Customs Office.
